Which Teams Have Qualified for 2026 World Cup with Ronaldo's Portugal on Brink?
Five countries booked their place at the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday as England, Côte d'Ivoire, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Senegal are all in.
Thus far, 28 countries have officially qualified for this summer's World Cup. They are as follows:
Co-hosts: Canada, Mexico, United States
Asia (AFC): Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan
Africa (CAF): Algeria, Cabo Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia
North American (CONCACAF): None
South America (CONMEBOL): Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay
Oceania (OFC): New Zealand
Europe (UEFA): England
Tuesday nearly saw a 29th team book their ticket for the event in the United States, Canada and Mexico, as Portugal needed just a win on Tuesday and were beating Hungary 2-1 heading into second-half stoppage time.
Dominik Szoboszlai's equalizer, however, meant that Portugal will have to wait until November to potentially qualify while spoiling another Cristiano Ronaldo record.
In total, 45 teams will feature in the World Cup's expanded field this summer, with 17 berths still up for grabs.
