NASCAR at New Hampshire 2015: Live Results, Standings for 5-Hour Energy 301
Kyle Busch needed a win and some help to qualify for the Chase after a broken leg forced him to miss the start of the Sprint Cup season, and he's more than holding up his end of the bargain.
Busch led 95 laps and captured his third checkered flag in the past four races at Sunday afternoon's 5-Hour Energy 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The trip to Victory Lane is the 32nd of his career on NASCAR's top series and adds to a remarkable comeback that also includes wins at Sonoma and Kentucky.
Brad Keselowski, who was the defending champion in this race, finished second after leading a race-high 101 of 301 laps.
Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounded out the top five.
Busch suffered a broken leg and foot in an XFinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway in February on the night before the season-opening Daytona 500.
He missed the first 11 races of the season before debuting at Charlotte's Coca-Cola 600 in May, but NASCAR granted him a waiver into the Chase, so long as he won a race and finished in the top 30 in driver points.
Even with three wins under his belt, Busch still has some work to do over the final seven regular-season races to ensure he secures the necessary points to qualify for the Chase.
NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series returns to action next Sunday for the Jeff Kyle 400 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
