Tiger Woods at British Open 2015: Friday Leaderboard Score and Twitter Reaction
The rain continued to fall on the career of Tiger Woods after the American legend failed to make an impact in his second round at the British Open.
Play was suspended late in the day due to low visibility after torrential rain delayed tee times across the board. Woods shook hands on the green of the 12th hole and will return on Saturday to complete his round. He left Friday's play one over for the day and five over in total.
Woods finds himself some 15 shots off the lead, as the superstar is almost sure to miss the cut:

Personalities and writers lined up to criticise him for his awful first round, with ESPN's Musa Okwonga, pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft and TalkSport's Georgie Bingham firing the shots:
Woods' round was delayed by more than three hours as the heavens opened in Scotland. An astonishing 12 millimetres of rain fell in 30 minutes at the start of the day, flooding the Old Course, making conditions unplayable.
The iconic player finally commenced his round at 6:10 p.m, getting off to a steady start over the first three holes while maintaining par, compared to his two bogeys over the same period during Thursday's opening round.
But matters soon descended into chaos, as Woods' game once again showed the cracks in the armour that have become all too evident.
Radio host Nick Camino highlighted Woods' lack of potency, with the golfer looking dejected as he trekked around the famous course:

Bogeys on the fourth and sixth holes left the golfer at two over for the day, with the cut looking like nothing more than an unattainable dream.
Pars on the seventh and eighth holes seemed to have righted the ship, but as the light began to grow dimmer at St Andrews, Woods could not illuminate his form or accuracy.
The Associated Press' Tim Dahlberg was unimpressed with Woods' play, bemoaning that more woe would almost certainly come on Saturday:

However, the American nearly sank a very long putt on the ninth hole. But as his luck would have it, his ball stopped an inch short, leaving him with par and two over for his first nine.
Woods finally found some success on the 10th, a hole he bogeyed in the first round. The golfer sunk a birdie to attain a small amount of confidence, but it was clear he was not enjoying his efforts.
CBS' Steve Futterman was cutting in his assessments of Woods, claiming that the end of his top-level career is near:

Woods found par once again on the 11th hole, keeping him on track, but the light was fading dramatically as the time pushed past 9:30 p.m.
Journalist Chris Parenteau believed the rain delay was a blessing for Woods, giving fans an extra day to see the fallen idol on Saturday, even though he is well off the pace to make the cut:
The Tiger Woods of old would have had the resolve to sink the shots he needed to make the cut, but this incarnation of the player is a shadow of the former great. The ex-giant of the sport has become an easy target for criticism, and it is unfortunate he will be forced to return on Saturday.
Weather conditions are predicted to be very windy on Saturday morning, likely resulting in Woods posting a score that would have been unthinkable a few years prior.
The all-time great needs to take some time away from the game and find his balance once more. Otherwise, he won't even approach winning a major title ever again.
