The Basketball Tournament 2015: Updated Bracket, Dates, Schedule and More
Is the NBA Summer League not satisfying your insatiable appetite for hoops? Fear not. The Basketball Tournament is here, and things are getting quite interesting with a few spots in the Super 17 still up for grabs.
While the West and South regions have already been pared down to four teams apiece, the Midwest and Northeast brackets will unfold over the course of a three-day stretch from July 17-19 in order to determine which squads will advance to the Super 17 in Chicago.
Once the final 17 teams are set, the field will continue to be whittled down until two squads are left to compete for the $1 million prize in a nationally televised showdown Aug. 2 on ESPN (3 p.m. ET) from New York.

Out West, the four confirmed teams for the Super 17 are 7outz, Team 23, LAUNFD and Team Utah.
7outz upset tournament favorite Grantland, 85-82, with a berth in Chicago on the line, as Andrew Lavender dropped a game-winning three-pointer with two seconds remaining to finish last Sunday's thriller with 24 points.
"I think we obviously had a target [on us]," Team Grantland's Luke Bonner said after the game, according to Grantland's Max Cea. "Honestly, not even just the fact that we had a couple NBA players, but it just being Grantland — that brought a lot of attention as well."
With Luke Bonner, Mike Bibby, Royal Ivey, Brian Scalabrine, Jason Williams and Reggie Williams, Grantland figured to cruise into the Windy City with a prime shot at taking home the delectable cash prize.
In the South, the Super 17 finalists are comprised of the Primetime Players, Dirty South, the Sean Bell All-Stars and Overseas Elite.
With Grantland out, Overseas Elite should be feeling good about its chances to take home a TBT title. Not only does Overseas Elite boast former Texas standout Myck Kabongo, but NCAA all-time three-point leader and former Oakland University stud Travis Bader has been holding down the fort on the perimeter.

Shifting gears to the Northeast, all eyes should be on an upcoming showdown between Liberty Ballers and The Wrecking Crew. While The Wrecking Crew was originally slated to clash with The Citi Team on July 17, an official forfeit from Citi set up an intriguing clash Saturday.
While The Wrecking Crew received a pseudo-bye, the fifth-seeded Liberty Ballers already owned one and are looking to kickstart a successful run behind the offerings of several local products.
Leading the way for Liberty Ballers is former Villanova Wildcat Antonio Pena, who holds a TBT single-game record with 52 points.

"He's spent the 2014-15 season playing for Rent4Office Nuernberger BC of Germany's second division," LibertyBallers.com's Jake Pavorsky wrote of Pena. "There he averaged 11 points and 5.7 rebounds a game, while even showcasing an ability to shoot the three ball."
Pena's joined by former Villanova teammate Reggie Redding, as well as homegrown commodities Ryan Brooks and Garrett Williamson. Brooks and Williamson teamed up to lead Lower Merion High School—the alma mater of Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant—to a state championship in 2006.
Factor in the presence of ex-Davidson star Jake Cohen—the 6'10'' forward who averaged 14.9 points and shot 38.8 percent from three as a senior—and this Liberty Ballers team has the look of a TBT title contender.
Friday's competition will lay the groundwork for a weekend jam-packed with high-powered action, but it's the consensus tournament favorites who continue to sit at the center of The Basketball Tournament universe.
