AEW Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights from September 6

Chris MuellerSep 6, 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on September 6.

Here's a look at what AEW advertised for Saturday's show:

  • Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis make an appearance
  • Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia
  • Konosuke Takeshita vs. Mark Briscoe
  • Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron vs. Thekla, Julia Hart, Skye Blue and Megan Bayne
  • FTR vs. Adam Priest and Tommy Billington

Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's Collision.

Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia

1 of 6

Marina Shafir accompanied Moxley to the ring for his match against Garcia. She gave him a good smack backstage to get him ready.

The submission specialist backed Mox to the corner and forced him to use the ropes to force a break. The leader of The Death Riders didn't look intimidated. It looked more like he was trying to antagonize Garcia into losing his cool.

It took a bit, but Garcia finally started unloading after being kicked in the back, but all that did was fire Moxley up even more. It seemed like he was trying to make Garcia either get himself disqualified or prove himself by finally beating him one-on-one.

When Garcia was down at ringside, Shafir surprisingly helped him to his feet without attacking him. When we returned from a break, Red Death had taken control and hit a piledriver on the apron as the crowd cheered him on.

The chemistry these two have built up allowed them to put on a hard-fought battle that felt more unpredictable than their previous encounters. This was only their fourth singles bout in four years, but it was easily their best.

They were given a lot of time and used every bit of it effectively. Unfortunately for Garcia, it ended with Moxley getting the win with a pinning combination. Garcia looked really disappointed in himself when it was over.

Result: Moxley defeated Garcia

Grade: A-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Few people in AEW have an aura as intimidating as Shafir.
  • Moxley sometimes looks like he is doing shoulder stretches for no reason.
  • Moxley looked like he might have pulled something when he hit a dropkick.

FTR vs. Adam Priest and Tommy Billington

2 of 6

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler took on the returning Billington and a man who has been getting more opportunities in AEW and ROH lately, Priest. Billington suffered a shoulder injury shortly after signing with AEW, so it was great to see him back.

Wheeler and Priest started by sizing each other up a bit before locking up. They had a brief exchange before tagging in their partners. Harwood used his size to throw Billington around a bit.

While Priest and Billington got in a decent amount of offense, FTR was definitely controlling the pace until we returned from the break and the new duo started going on a roll.

Priest and Billington made for a fun challenge for FTR, but even when they had the upper hand, it never quite felt like they had a chance of winning. This was a solid match that was designed to give FTR a competitive victory. They got the win with a simple splash from the top rope.

Result: FTR defeated Billington and Priest

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Big Bill gave a promo that insulted the Rocky statue in Philly. He called out Eddie Kingston for a fight.
  • Priest's entrance music was like one of the generic themes from the '90s and it was great.
  • AEW showing tweets in the corner of the screen was a bit distracting due to the size of the graphic.
  • One of the chops Moxley hit on Priest was very loud.

All Star 8-Woman Tag Match

3 of 6

The Triangle of Madness teamed up with Bayne to take on the quartet of Storm, Shirakawa, Statlander and Cameron this week.

Everyone was banned from ringside, but Wheeler Yuta showed up and tried to give Stat some advice before the match started. Thekla went right after Storm as soon as the bell rang.

This was back and forth early on, but the heels definitely had the advantage more times than not. When we went to a break, Bayne was dominating the competition.

When we returned, the babyfaces began building some momentum. Storm was suplexing women left and right. Cameron and Stat almost got the win with a double-team move to Blue, but Hart broke up the pin.

Hart almost won for her team with an octopus stretch, but Statlander escaped and used a pinning combination to get the three-count. This was a high-energy match with some fun moments, but it also had a little too much chaos at times.

The heels dismantled the babyfaces after the match was over until Jamie Hayter showed up and drove them off.

Result: Statlander, Shirakawa, Storm and Cameron defeated Bayne and Triangle of Madness

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • There was a video package with Dalton Castle and The Outrunners that referenced the famous handshake in Predator.
  • AEW has been referring to every 8-person match as an All Star match.
  • Thekla looked almost disgusted to see Shirakawa dancing.

Kyle Fletcher Has Big Ambitions

4 of 6

Fletcher came out with Don Callis and Josh Alexander for a promo. Callis put over Fletcher as being better than Kenny Omega and Adam Page. Fletcher declared his intention to win the AEW world title to become a double champion. He challenged Hangman to a match at All Out.

Konosuke Takeshita vs. Mark Briscoe

5 of 6

Callis stayed at ringside to join the commentary team for the main event match between Briscoe and Takeshita.

They started out with an exchange of wristlocks and counters before they picked up the pace a bit. Big Take got a little frustrated and shoved Briscoe a bit before they locked up again.

We returned from a commercial to see Takeshita firmly in control. He slammed Briscoe on the apron and then grounded him in a submission, but The Chicken got to his feet and began fighting back.

Both of these guys have their own style, but they are also both so versatile that they were able to find their rhythm relatively quickly. Takeshita has had an incredible year and it feels like every match he has helped prove he is one of the best in the world right now.

They fought through a second break and we returned to see Briscoe beginning to make a comeback.

The last section of this bout was the best part. Both guys had some good spots and came close to winning, but MJF showed up and interfered to cost Briscoe the match. MJF just got married on Friday, so a lot of people were surprised to see him.

He ended up having a confrontation with Takeshita but Callis tried to make peace. The show ended with MJF issuing a challenge for any kind of match Briscoe wants.

Result: Takeshita defeated Briscoe

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Anthony Bowens gave a quick interview backstage.
  • The commercial break came out of nowhere in the middle of commentary talking.
  • One noticeable thing about AEW using a smaller venue is that everything the wrestlers do sounds a little louder because the noise is not being masked by a huge crowd.
  • Briscoe got dumped on the back of his neck but popped up like nothing happened.

The Final Word

6 of 6

This week's Collision was one of the strongest episodes in a while because it felt more focused than most episodes.

Only having four matches on the card allowed each bout to stand out in different ways. Nothing felt rushed, and every segment mattered.

The women's tag match was enjoyable, FTR vs. Priest and Billington was decent, and Takeshita and Briscoe put on a good main event.

However, Garcia and Moxley absolutely stole the show this week. They gave us one of the best matches either man has had in months, and it seemed to open the door for Garcia to turn heel again in the near future.

Shows with 7-8 matches offer a lot of action, but a show like this allows everything to breathe and have a greater impact.
