Tommy Castellanos Trolls Alabama with 'Nick Can't Save Them' Shirts After FSU Win
Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos taunted Alabama with the release of some merchandise.
After Castellanos led the Seminoles to a 31-17 upset win over the Crimson Tide on Saturday, he released shirts on his website displaying the message "Nick Can't Save Them."
The shirts are a reference to the signal-caller's confidence heading into the matchup due to the absence of former legendary head coach Nick Saban.
"They don't have Nick Saban to save them," Castellanos said in June, per Matt Moret and Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic. "I just don't see them stopping me."
He went on to reveal that he would have said some things differently at ACC media days in July, but didn't take back his comments.
"I said what I said," Castellanos explained. "We stand on that."
The 22-year-old backed up his talk on Saturday, as he spearheaded a dominant Seminoles rushing attack. They picked up 236 yards on the ground as a team compared to just 87 for Alabama.
Castellanos ended the game with a team-high 78 rush yards and a touchdown on 16 attempts. He also finished 9-of-14 for 152 yards through the air.
The senior passer spent the first three seasons of his college career at UCF and Boston College before transferring to Florida State in Dec. 2024. The victory over Alabama was especially impressive considering the Seminoles wrapped up a 2-10 finish last season.
"We heard everything everybody said, we'd seen everything everybody said and we just added that fuel to the fire and we went out there and just played ball together," Castellanos said after the game, via CBS Sports' Cody Nagel. "We went out there together and we executed. That's it."
While he prepares for Florida State's next matchup with East Texas A&M on Sept. 6, he took the opportunity to commemorate the win against Alabama first.
