BMW Championship Leaderboard 2025 Review of Top Scorecards and Player Stats on Day 2
Robert MacIntyre extended his fantastic conclusion to the first round of the BMW Championship into a tremendous second round.
The Scottish left-hander moved up to 14-under to hold on to the lead after 36 holes in Maryland.
MacIntyre can’t feel too comfortable, though, because Scottie Scheffler sits five shots back.
Scheffler climbed up into second place with a five-under 65.
MacIntyre and Scheffler were two of nine golfers that carded scores of 66 or lower.
The low scoring was a stark contrast to Thursday, when only three golfers scored 66 or lower.

Robert MacIntyre Moves Into Double Digits Under Par
2 of 4
Robert MacIntyre kept his multi-shot advantage with a six-under 64 on Friday.
MacIntyre produced a trio of birdies on each nine.
The 36-hole leader recorded pars on the other 12 holes at Caves Valley Golf Club.
MacIntyre has 16 birdies and two bogeys in his first two rounds.
He’s set a tremendous foundation for the weekend, but he needs more birdie-filled rounds to fend off any challenges from Scheffler and others.
Scottie Scheffler Climbs Into Second Place
3 of 4
Scottie Scheffler also turned in a bogey-free round on Friday.
Scheffler got off to a fast start with three birdies in his first five holes.
He then birdied the 11th and 12th holes to get to five-under for the round.
Scheffler improved on his Thursday score by one stroke.
Although he is five shots back, Scheffler will have the chance to apply pressure on MacIntyre on Saturday. The two will play in the final pairing.
Scheffler could be just two or three shots back in a few holes, or at least by the end of the front nine.
Low Scores Dominate Top of Leaderboard
4 of 4
Low scores were in abundance on Friday.
MacIntyre and Scheffler were two of nine golfers to card scores of 66 or lower.
MacIntyre tied with Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama and Maverick McNealy for the lowest score on the course.
Rory McIlroy was among the collection of low scorers on Friday as well.
McIlroy still has a long way to go to even catch Scheffler.
The low scores on Friday might set a precedent for the weekend. We could see multiple golfers finish Saturday’s round in double digits.
