Liverpool and its supporters honored late striker Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, ahead of the club's Premier League opener against Bournemouth on Friday.
Liverpool and Bournemouth players donned black armbands, as will every other English club in action this weekend. Anfield also held a moment of silence for Jota and Silva.

Supporters in and around the ground did their part to memorialize the two:
Fans inside Anfield also cheered in the 20th minute, which coincides with Jota's shirt number.
Jota and Silva died in a car crash in Spain on July 3. Jota was only a week removed from marrying partner Rute Cardoso, with whom he has three children.
Almost immediately, a makeshift memorial started outside of Anfield. Many of Jota's current and former teammates came to pay their respects, as did representatives for clubs around the world.
Jota joined Liverpool in September 2020. He had spent three seasons Wolverhampton Wanderers before that, and his career included stops at Paços de Ferreira, Atlético Madrid and Porto.
The Portuguese star made 182 total appearances for the Reds and scored 65 goals. He helped the club achieve an EFL and FA Cup double in 2021-22 and then claim a Premier League title in 2024-25.
Liverpool announced it has retired the No. 20 shirt to honor Jota's contributions.
