Tom Aspinall 'Not Interested' in Jon Jones Fight, Focused on Ciryl Gane at UFC 321
Despite Jon Jones quickly ending his retirement for the chance to fight on next year's proposed UFC card at the White House, UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is not holding out hope that their long-awaited fight will come to fruition.
During an appearance on Monday's episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, Aspinall had a definitive answer when asked about the possibility of finally facing Jones in the Octagon.
"It has spent zero seconds in my mind. I'm not interested, mate. Not interested," Aspinall told Helwani. "The world shouldn't be interested either, because what's the point? That's false hope."

Jones and Aspinall had long been expected to have a title unification bout before Jones retired from MMA and vacated the heavyweight belt, elevating Aspinall from his status as interim champ to the undisputed titleholder. After Jones retired, Aspinall was booked for his first fight since July 2024, as he will face Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 on Oct. 25. He said his upcoming matchup is his sole focus.
"I've already got a fight, so I'm focusing on that. ... For the next 10 weeks of my life, all I'm thinking about is Ciryl Gane and how to beat him," Aspinall said.
The hypothetical fight between Jones and Aspinall will likely go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities in UFC history, but Aspinall seems content to put the former champion in his rearview. The 32-year-old England native also expressed disinterest in appearing on the White House card at all.
"Not particularly. It doesn't not interest me, but it doesn't really interest me, to be honest. ... It'd be a cool experience, but I feel like the Americans should get the shot at the White House," Aspinall said.
