Little League Softball World Series 2025 Sunday Scores, Bracket Results, Highlights
The road to a championship started Sunday with the opening day of competition in the 2025 Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina.
With 12 teams in the bracket, eight of which are from the United States, the first day of the event represented an opportunity to establish early momentum and avoid critical initial losses.
Here is a look at the Sunday scores and schedule as the tournament begins to progress toward the championship game on Aug. 10.
2025 LLSWS Sunday Scores
- Southeast defeats Northwest, 9-2
- North Carolina defeats Latin America, 4-3
- Canada def. Europe-Africa, 5-4
- Mid-Atlantic def. New England, 2-1
Mid-Atlantic beats New England, 2-1
How about some late drama to close out the day?
Neither Pennsylvania or Connecticut scored until the final inning in a pitching duel between Reagan Bills—who had a whopping 15 strikeouts—and Maeve Eagleson (six strikeouts).
Michaela Mascari's stole home to give New England a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth, but Kendal Schilling's RBI single with two runners on—Mid-Atlantic's first hit of the game—tied the contest in the bottom of the sixth. Leilah Schilling-Mansour then provided the winning moment with a walk-off RBI single.
Pennsylvania will be back in action on Monday against California, while Connecticut will have an elimination game on Tuesday.
Canada beats Europe-Africa, 5-4
Canada beat the Czech Republic 5-4 on Sunday, though it almost blew that chance.
The Canadians held a 4-2 lead heading into the sixth but promptly allowed the Czechs to tie the game after a two-out rally. That forced extra innings, though Canada won it in the seventh.
The win didn't come without a cost, however, as dominant Canadian pitcher Arielle Prescott was removed from the contest with an injury.
It was Canada's first LLSWS win since 2018. They'll be back in action on Monday against the Asia-Pacific Region.
Southeast defeats Northwest, 9-2
The team from Lake Mary, Florida, representing the Southeast couldn't have asked for a better start to its 2025 Little League Softball World Series.
It cruised to a 9-2 victory over the team from Mill Creek, Washington, representing the Northwest in a game that was never truly in doubt.
Southeast wasted little time setting the stage, as Addison Bono launched a three-run homer in the first inning to give her side a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Acadia Graney added an RBI single in the frame to extend the lead, but Bono's homer set the tone.
And it was just the start of her day.
She hit a three-RBI double in the second inning to break the game wide open. It was more than enough run support for Sam Bradley on the mound, and the Florida team picked up an important opening win.
Next up for the victors is a matchup against Oklahoma.
North Carolina defeats Latin America, 4-3
While the first game was a straightforward victory, the second game was defined by late drama.
The team representing Winterville, North Carolina, took advantage of some defensive miscues from the São Paulo, Brazil, side and escaped with a 4-3 win. In fact, North Carolina had more runs than hits (two), but came through near the end of the game with three runs in the fifth inning.
Brazil jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first, but a sac fly from Avery Cash tied it in the second.
That the victors' first run came without a hit felt fitting, as they overcame a 3-1 deficit in the fifth thanks to a small-ball approach that put pressure on the defense.
Brazil threw the ball away twice attempting to throw out a base-stealer in that fifth inning, which set the stage for the comeback.
North Carolina will play the Central Region representatives in its next game after the opening win.
