British Open 2025 Tee Times, Pairings and Predictions for Sunday Schedule
Scottie Scheffler is 18 holes away from winning his fourth major.
The task at hand seems pretty simple given the current state of Scheffler's game. He needs to hold on to a four-shot lead at Royal Portrush on Sunday.
Scheffler has never relinquished a 54-hole lead at a major. It's hard to imagine him losing the tournament to Haotong Li, his Sunday playing partner, and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele and others made strong gains on Saturday, but they are still far off from Scheffler, so they may be relegated to competing for second place.

Scottie Scheffler Cruises to 4th Major Title
2 of 3
It's difficult for anyone in the field to beat Scheffler straight up, so imagine how terrible it will be for the rest of the golfers at Royal Portrush to chase down the leader on Sunday.
Scheffler has never lost a major when he holds the 54-hole lead.
A similar situation played out in May at the PGA Championship, where Scheffler held a three-shot lead after Saturday.
Scheffler expanded that advantage to six shots despite shooting even-par at Quail Hollow.
An even-par round at Portrush might be good enough since the rest of the field has to play near-perfect golf just to reach 14-under.
Rory McIlroy Finishes Second
3 of 3
Rory McIlroy feels like the golfer with the best chance to chase down Scheffler.
McIlroy charged up the leaderboard on Saturday with a five-under round. He sits six shots back of Scheffler.
A six-shot comeback would create a moment for the ages, but the more likely scenario is for McIlroy to play well, bank off the home crowd in Northern Ireland and finish second.
McIlroy just needs to gain two shots on Haotong Li to finish second. Li will play in the final group of a major for the first time in his career on Sunday.
McIlroy should play relaxed in front of the home crowd and alongside likely European Ryder Cup teammate Matt Fitzpatrick.
Another five-under round would absolutely land him second, and if he gets to that point, there's a small chance he could put Scheffler under pressure.
