Larry Fitzgerald's Son Devin Spoke with Marvin Harrison Jr. About Building Own Legacy
Devin Fitzgerald, a 3-star wideout in the Class of 2026 and the son of legendary NFL receiver Larry Fitzgerald, committed to Notre Dame earlier in July.
His hope in South Bend is to create a name for himself.
"I'm just trying to create my own legacy," Fitzgerald told TMZ Sports. "I love being a Fitzgerald, but I also just want to be known as Devin."

"I talked to [Arizona Cardinals wideout] Marvin Harrison Jr. about this," he continued. "He said he wasn't known as [himself] until he started balling out at Ohio State. ... It's cool and all that people are giving me stuff because of my dad, but on the football side, I feel like they're not getting anything out of my dad for me being able to go to their school. ... [Notre Dame] is gonna get a kid that's ready to work hard and earn everything, not expecting anything to be handed to me. I wanna go there and earn my spot, get good grades in the classroom, build good relationships, and just be a great member of the community."
While the Fitzgerald is hoping to forge his own path, much like the younger Harrison has done, his father was nonetheless an excellent resource to have at his disposal.
"Having my dad there to help me throughout the recruiting process has been great," Fitzgerald told ESPN's Eli Lederman in early July. "He knows what's important. You want to go somewhere you feel like you belong and where you fit in."
