Myles Turner Calls Out Some Pacers Fans, Says They're 'Complaining Still' After Exit
Myles Turner indicated there's no love lost between him and some segments of the Indiana Pacers fanbase since he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in free agency.
"I don't know what to expect, I really don't," Turner said Saturday when asked during a NBA TV Summer League broadcast what he expected from his first time playing against the Pacers. "I think it's gonna be half and half.
"Even in my time there, there's a lot of people that wanted me off the team, and now they got what they wanted, and now they're complaining, still."
Turner, who helped lead the Pacers to the 2025 NBA Finals, left in free agency to sign a reported four-year, $107 million deal with the Bucks.
He expanded some more on his decision to sign with the Bucks during his appearance on the Saturday broadcast.
"I was damned if I did, damned if I didn't in the situation. That was kind of the way I looked at it," Turner said. "The negotiations, it's the part that the casual fan doesn't get to see. But I would say, definitely, you're going to take whatever storyline you want with this. And we have this heated rivalry, so no matter what I say, it's going to get twisted into whatever they want it to be for the narrative.
"There was no love lost with this entire situation. I just went and made the best decision for myself and my family moving forward."
Turner said in a goodbye to Indianapolis posted on Instagram that it had been an "absolute privilege" to play for the fans at the Pacers' Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
But Turner has also taken a few digs at his former franchise since leaving for Milwaukee, including saying during his introductory press conference on Friday that his decision to sign with the Bucks was "ultimately about just staying competitive."
He later said the "only thing that went into this decision was getting to get that experience once again" of going to the NBA Finals.
While Pacers fans brace for a 2024-25 season marred not only by their starting center's departure but by the loss of Tyrese Haliburton to an Achilles injury, the Bucks will hope adding Turner to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo will be enough to make the team title contenders next spring.
