AEW Dynamite Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction, Highlights Before All In 2025

Kevin BergeJul 9, 2025

The July 9 edition of Dynamite at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas represented the beginning of a huge week for All Elite Wrestling.

Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli teamed with The Young Bucks to face "Hangman" Adam Page, Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata. Could the heroes deal a blow to The Death Riders and Elite before Saturday's All In?

"Timeless" Toni Storm and Mercedes Moné met for a final face-to-face in the ring. What would they say to one another with so much on the line at the weekend?

MJF and Mark Briscoe would meet in the ring for a "talky-talk" days before they start the men's Casino Gauntlet for a future world title opportunity.

Megan Bayne, Thekla, Tay Melo and Queen Aminata would collide in a 4-way match to determine who would start the women's Casino Gauntlet with Kris Statlander.

Samoa Joe hoped to make a statement at the expense of Wheeler Yuta, while Bandido and Brody King hoped to take down Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita to pick up momentum into All In.

Continuing to make a statement at the expense of the roster, Ricochet would fight Blake Christian one-on-one with new allies Gates of Agony likely to get involved.

What more would AEW bring ahead of All In? Could Dynamite set the stage for the one of the most defining weeks in company history?

Mercedes Moné and 'Timeless' Toni Storm Face Off for Last Time Before All In

1 of 8

Mercedes Moné headed to the ring and awaited "Timeless" Toni Storm, who first appeared on the titantron before heading to the squared circle.

The two traded words, and The Timeless One clearly frustrated The CEO. A brawl broke out, but Moné quickly slipped away.

The first promo exchange between two was stronger, but this was still engaging. They both sold what makes them different despite their similar paths to success.

Storm continues to show why she is one of the best promos in the business, carrying deep emotion behind her old-school cadence.

This was a more personal exchange than the first, highlighting how much these two have come to hate each other before All In.

They will look to deliver the greatest match possible on Saturday on behalf of the AEW women's division.

While the other two big matches have greater crowd hype behind them, Moné and Storm have the clearest need and desire to steal the show. It will be unmissable.

Notable Moments

- The two women started with a champagne toast. The CEO called out that it had been chilled at some point as she spit it out.

- Storm read Moné as a fraud, not showing her true emotions in anything she does.

- Storm: "Legacies don't exist, Mercedes. We're all going to die."

- Storm: "You fear an ordinary life, but the only thing I fear is an ordinary death."

- The CEO slipped up in saying All In was on Sunday instead of Saturday. This was also a frequent slip on commentary as AEW's PPVs are so often on Sunday.

Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita vs. Brody King and Bandido

2 of 8
WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage
Konosuke Takeshita

After Brody King and Kyle Fletcher wiped each other out on the outside, Konosuke Takeshita caught Bandido mid-corkscrew with a forearm smash into Raging Fire for the victory.

This was unsurprisingly great, pitting four of the best in AEW right now against each other. Takeshita and Fletcher could easily win tag team gold soon.

At this stage, The Protostar's victory over Adam Cole looks assured. He is too popular and on too much of a roll to lose.

Takeshita got the pin on the ROH world champion on Dynamite, likely setting up a loss at Supercard of Honor, especially since The Alpha will head to Japan shortly for the G1 Climax.

No matter what, though, Fletcher and Takeshita continue to deliver at the highest level. Bandido is putting some of his best matches ever right now. King has not missed in the ring in a long time.

Result

Takeshita and Fletcher def. Bandido and King by pinfall.

Grade

B+

Notable Moments

- Don Callis joined commentary and made clear he was only talking to Taz as the only man who actually drew money at the table.

- King caught Fletcher in a sleeper while Bandido caught Takeshita with a frog splash. The Protostar barely slipped out of King's grip to break up the pin.

- The Outrunners delivered a pre-taped promo, promising to keep getting better. FTR and The Patriarchy vs. The Outrunners and JetSpeed was announced for Collision.

- In a backstage interview, FTR did not show respect to The Patriarchy, saying the team should be in the AEW World Tag Team Championships match at All In.

Ricochet vs. Blake Christian

3 of 8
New Japan Pro-Wrestling - Wrestle Dynasty

While Blake Christian pushed Ricochet more than expected, The Gates of Agony played a vital role in protecting The One and Only, setting up a Spirit Gun and Vertigo to win.

This was a fine follow-up to Ricochet finding his support, even if it was hard to root for Christian after being such an obnoxious heel in other recent matches.

He performed well in the moment, especially navigating The Gates of Agony at ringside, and this could lead lead to him and Lee Johnson doing more in AEW in the future.

For the moment, the focus is on Ricochet, who feels like a quiet dark horse in the Casino Gauntlet. He would certainly make the most of the win if he pulled it off.

Result

Ricochet def. Christian by pinfall.

Grade

C+

Notable Moments

- Christian delivered a pre-taped promo before the match, declaring Johnson was not cleared to wrestle after Ricochet and The Gates of Agony's attack.

- The Gates of Agony arrived late, distracting Vanilla Baby just as he was starting to take over the action.

- Christian got close to the win with a springboard 450 splash.

- Vanilla Baby went after Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona outside, even walking over their backs to get back to the apron.

MJF and Mark Briscoe Have a Talky-Talk

4 of 8

Mark Briscoe took MJF's best shots and seemed to take it in stride until The Salt of the Earth turned praise for Jay Briscoe into a horrific line that it should have been Mark in that accident instead of his brother.

A brawl broke out before Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley arrived, only to face the wrath of their All In challengers, "Speedball" Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight.

The other challengers, The Patriarchy, arrived to also beat down The Hurt Syndicate. Christian hit Lashley with a pair of Con-chair-tos to the leg. The champions were both laid out.

Few men in wrestling risk going over the line more often than MJF. Even when Mark called out that he knew his rival was going low, The Salt of the Earth still went lower.

That final line felt like too much for a feud just starting up, but it will be down to how far MJF vs. Briscoe goes beyond All In.

Without insight on where this is going, this did not fully land. It never felt like these two got deep enough to make this segment worthy of its spot.

The challengers taking out the AEW tag team champions before All In makes the titleholders look more vulnerable, but it does complicate who the heels are here.

Even if The Hurt Syndicate beat down JetSpeed first, Benjamin and Lashley go into Saturday looking like the underdogs over the plucky babyfaces.

Grade

D+

Notable Moments

- The Hurt Syndicate found out JetSpeed stole their AEW Tag Team Championships and did not come out with MJF for his talky-talk.

- Briscoe called out that MJF's "redneck" mockery did not hurt him because he was proud of his life, family and friends.

- The word of the day is "bankrupt" because MJF is morally bankrupt with no soul.

- Mark called out MJF talking down Jay, but The Salt of the Earth turned it around by saying Jay is an all-time great as a wrestler and person.

4-Way for No. 2 Spot in Women's Casino Gauntlet

5 of 8
Women's Pro-Wrestling "Stardom"
Megan Bayne

Megan Bayne was simply too powerful for three of AEW's best in Queen Aminata, Thekla and Tay Melo. She caught Aminata with a running powerbomb for the victory.

This was always going to come down to either Bayne or Thekla, but The Megasus has more history to play on with Statlander as the starting two in the women's Casino Gauntlet.

Aminata certainly delivered in her own right, continuing to show an impressive level of chemistry with Thekla once again in their sequences.

Few women have improved more in their time in AEW than Melo, but this was a big test for her. She was a step slow in moments but made up for it with strong execution, even blasting Bayne with the Tay-KO.

As a whole, this was a great showing from four women who should all compete on Saturday.

Result

Bayne def. Aminata, Thekla and Melo by pinfall to earn the No. 2 spot in the women's Casino Gauntlet.

Grade

A-

Notable Moments

- Statlander watched in the crowd to see who would meet her to start the Gauntlet.

- Melo came out to a new theme for her first singles match since returning.

- Bayne caught Thekla off the ropes and threw her onto Melo and Aminata outside and then dived onto all three women.

- Aminata caught Thekla with Off with Her Head, but Penelope Ford grabbed her before she could go for the pin. Anna Jay brawled with Ford outside.

- Backstage, Renee Paquette tried to interview Thekla, but Aminata attacked her. Mark Briscoe arrived to promise to hurt, maybe even kill, MJF.

Samoa Joe vs. Wheeler Yuta

6 of 8
WRESTLING: JAN 26 AEW Collision

Wheeler Yuta tried everything in his power to beat Samoa Joe, but The Samoan Submission Machine always had an answer. He reversed a pin attempt into the Coquina Clutch for the win.

After the win, Gabe Kidd arrived to attack Joe from behind until Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata sent them running.

This was good, but AEW continues to deliver at such a high level in the ring that "good" does not feel like enough.

This was simply forgettable in comparison to what else was delivered throughout the night.

Ultimately, the right man won as Joe remains a force few can match. It also set the stage for Kidd's return just in time to challenge for the AEW Trios Championships alongside Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli.

Result

Joe def. Yuta by submission.

Grade

C

Notable Moments

- The crowd did not even wait for the bell to start chanting "Joe's gonna kill you."

Death Riders and Young Bucks vs. Opps, 'Hangman' Adam Page and Will Ospreay

7 of 8

"Hangman" Adam Page looked unstoppable when he was involved, but Jon Moxley managed to get around him by winning with a Bulldog Choke to Katsuyori Shibata.

Afterward, The Death Riders choked out The Cowboy and Will Ospreay until Swerve Strickland arrived in a power shovel to destroy Matt and Nick Jackson's limousine.

The energy in the arena for this match was like nothing else on the night. Fans were into every moment, especially when Ospreay and Hangman were in, but The Opps got great reactions as well.

While the match was great throughout, the aftermath was even more memorable as The Cowboy looked unstoppable when eye-to-eye with the champion.

Even the indomitable destroyer Claudio Castagnoli could not slow down Page in his march toward Mox.

It truly feels only one result is possible at All In, but anything can happen in professional wrestling. Hangman should win, but will he?

Swerve and Ospreay continue to hold the dominant hand against The Young Bucks, but even that feels more uncertain on the week of All In after Swerve and Ospreay came out looking so happy on Dynamite.

Whatever comes next, the hype from this segment alone was enough to carry two of AEW's biggest matches to All In.

Result

Moxley, Castagnoli and The Young Bucks def. Shibata, Hobbs, Ospreay and Hangman by pinfall.

Grade

A

Notable Moments

- Backstage, Mox warned Hangman he would need to truly outlast him at All In to earn the world title because this was nothing like their last match.

- Hangman got the biggest reactions of the night.

- The crowd felt the "meat" energy when Castagnoli and Hobbs met in the ring.

- Castagnoli and Mox finally got Hobbs out of the way with a double powerbomb through a table.

- In the post-match brawl, Castagnoli caught Hangman mid-Buckshot with a European uppercut, but The Cowboy bounced back with a clothesline.

- The Young Bucks came out to check on their limo and took a Swerve Stomp in the parking lot.

Overall Show

8 of 8

This was a solid hype show for most of the All In card, but it succeeded most clearly in highlighting the world title matches and The Young Bucks vs. Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland.

The action and promos involving these contests were all top-notch and set a standard of excellence for Saturday.

The chaos surrounding the Casino Gauntlets was solid, especially relying on the 4-Way that never slowed down as a preview for the women.

Often it feels like Dynamite should be the final step before All In, but AEW has put a major emphasis on selling Collision as the last stop before PPVs.

This can lead to surprising absences on Dynamite such as no Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada, but that will change on Collision.

Still, it was a good night with a few more notable missteps than a usual Dynamite. Perhaps Collision will pick up the remaining slack, but All In feels like a show that cannot fail regardless.
