Knicks' Mohamed Diawara Reportedly Will Play Summer League After Draft, Contract TBD
New York Knicks draft pick Mohamed Diawara is set to suit up for NBA Summer League, but his contract status beyond that remains to be determined, according to The Athletic’s James L. Edwards III.
The French forward was selected by the Knicks with the No. 51 pick in this year’s draft, though his future with the team beyond Summer League remains uncertain.
Diawara spent the past few seasons with Cholet Basket of France’s Betclic Élite league, where he averaged 5.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 27 games last season.
The 6'8'' forward shot 38.3 percent from the field and 31 percent from beyond the arc, giving New York a developmental prospect who has shown growth in recent years but remains a work in progress.
The 2025 NBA Summer League is scheduled to run from July 10–20 in Las Vegas at UNLV.
