Julius Randle Reportedly Expected to Sign Long-Term Wolves Contract After Reid Deal
The Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to give forward Julius Randle a long-term contract during the offseason after retaining Naz Reid, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
"There is a growing belief that Julius Randle will be next in striking a long-term agreement to sign with the Timberwolves as well," Fischer reported Saturday.
Minnesota reportedly handed Reid a new five-year, $125 million contract on Friday.

Reid declined a $15 million player option before agreeing to a new contract.
As for Randle, he has a player option worth $30.9 million for the 2025-26 season.
Both players, along with center Rudy Gobert, comprised an imposing frontcourt next to superstar Anthony Edwards and helped the Timberwolves make their second straight Western Conference Finals appearance in 2025.
Randle is coming off his first year in Minnesota, as he was acquired in a three-team trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks just before the start of the 2024-25 regular season.
The three-time All-Star was efficient throughout the year with the Timberwolves, averaging 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from behind the arc.
Randle's ability to draw defensive attention in the post and find shooters was extremely beneficial to Minnesota's offense. He created 12.4 points per game off his assists during the regular season, the highest mark on the team (via NBA.com).
The 30-year-old also stepped up in the playoffs, recording 21.7 points and 4.9 assists per game on 50.2/38.5/88.0 shooting splits in 15 postseason games.
As the Timberwolves look to remain a threat in the Western Conference moving forward, they're reportedly focused on keeping Randle beyond the 2025-26 season.
