Scouting Report for LA Lakers Undrafted Free Agent Signing Eric Dixon
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent Eric Dixon after he went undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft.
Dixon was the nation's No. 1 scorer this past season, averaging 23.3 points per game to earn the NCAA scoring title.
Dixon earned First-Team All-Big East honors in 2025, after back-to-back Second-Team selections the two years prior.
At the Combine, Dixon’s 6'11.50'' wingspan nearly cracked the top 15 among non-centers.
Overall, Dixon doesn’t offer the upside of younger prospects, but his experience and touch give him a chance to carve out a rotation role, particularly if he can upgrade his mobility and athleticism.
Dixon is ranked No. 55 on B/R NBA Draft expert Jonathan Wasserman's 2025 Prospect Big Board.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Eric Paschall
1 of 3
Dixon’s thick, powerful frame and face-up scoring game evoke shades of Eric Paschall.
Like Paschall, Dixon thrives on strength mismatches and can attack closeouts or bully smaller defenders in space.
Both are undersized for traditional big roles. But both compensate with craft, touch, and a strong lower body.
Strengths
2 of 3
Shotmaking: You don't become the nation's leading scorer without being able to put the ball in the bucket multiple ways. Dixon brings polish as a scorer, and while his athletic limitations keep him below the rim, they definitely don't keep him in the paint. He shot 40.7 percent on three-point shots on 7.2 attempts per contest in 2025.
'Pick' Situations: Dixon will test defenses in the NBA as a scorer coming off of screens. It's probably easier to project his pick-and-pop role being more of a go-to; but he has the roll game in his bag and can finish through contact with good footwork and a hard dribble.
Weaknesses
3 of 3
Athleticism: Dixon lacks lateral agility, and he's not quick enough to either beat or stop someone off the dribble. It's why on offense he's such a below-the-rim player who dunked the ball just five times all last season.
Defense/Rebounding: Defensive rating and rebouding are probably the two categoies where Dixon grades out worst. He was already a target in switches in college, and you'd imagine that's only going to get worse in the pros. If he's not able to improve his athleticism to make up the difference, his team will have to hide him on that end of the court rather than trust him in most matchups.
