The NBA announced Wednesday that Nike was issuing new Standard Issue Collection jerseys for all 30 teams and new NBA Specter Edition uniforms "for the teams who trace their roots back to the earliest chapters of the league."
According to the announcement, the new Specter jerseys were created for the Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics.
"Bringing forward the same obsession with the game that defines the NBA Standard Issue collection, each uniform features details inspired by the franchises' history, city heritage and fan culture," it explained.
The Lakers will look different on the court this season beyond just the new jerseys.
After all, LeBron James left to join the Philadelphia 76ers after eight seasons in Purple and Gold. There is no doubt this is Dončić's team, but Los Angeles also brought back Austin Reaves to share backcourt duties.
It also traded for big man Walker Kessler, giving Dončić a new target on his lob passes.
