Suns Reportedly Trade for No. 31 Pick in 2025 NBA Draft after Warriors, Wolves Deals
The Phoenix Suns have moved up to the top of the second round ahead of Day 2 of the 2025 NBA draft, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Thursday.
The Suns acquired the No. 31 pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the No. 36 selection and two future second-round picks, according to Charania.
Phoenix is "eyeing" selecting St. Joseph's forward Rasheer Fleming at No. 31, Charania reported.

On ESPN's NBA draft broadcast, Charania said the Boston Celtics were targeting Fleming at No. 32, which forced the Suns to be aggressive to move in front.
The Suns had previously received the No. 36 pick from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for another two future second-rounders, Charania reported.
Phoenix also acquired the No. 41 selection from the Golden State Warriors for the No. 52 and No. 59 picks, per Charania.
NBA insider Jake Fischer similarly reported that Fleming is "high on the Suns' board" heading into the second round.
According to Fischer, an NBA executive earlier on Thursday afternoon had called the Timberwolves' trade talks with the Suns "the Rasheer Fleming sweepstakes."
Fleming is the highest-ranked prospect still available on B/R's big board.
The forward averaged 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 53.1 percent from the field in his junior season for St. Joseph's. He also contributed 1.4 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.
He drew attention at the 2025 NBA draft combine by ranking fourth among all prospects, and first among non-centers, with a wingspan of 7'5.25".
Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman projected Fleming going to the Timberwolves at No. 31 in his final mock ahead of the 2025 draft.
Wasserman called Fleming's wingspan measurement "eye-opening for a barefoot 6'8", 232-pound forward."
"That physical profile, plus a shooting stroke that connected on 62 threes (39.0 percent) will generate interest from a number of teams in the mid-to-late first round," Wasserman wrote. "We've heard from scouts who think he's going to go earlier than many initially expected."
The Suns started out the draft by choosing former Duke center Khaman Maluach at No. 10. Phoenix was set to select again at No. 29 before it traded the pick to acquire center Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets.
Potentially adding Fleming, Maluach and Williams in the span of 24 hours will continue the ongoing transformation of the Suns' frontcourt after they parted ways with Kevin Durant in a blockbuster deal earlier this week.
