Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Agrees He's the 'Best Player in the World' After NBA Title
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander achieved nearly every feat possible this season, and now he's ready to say he's the best player in the world.
The Oklahoma City Thunder star told ESPN's Malika Andrews that being called the best player in the world has been one of his goals.
"Yeah, for sure," Gilgeous-Alexander said (2:58 mark). "That's another goal of mine to stand at the top of the mountain. The way I have this year, it's been pretty fun. It's definitely one of the things I want to check off my list."

Andrews then asked him whether he thinks he's reached that goal.
"Sure, why not," he answered.
Gilgeous-Alexander did it all this year, putting up 32.7 points, 6.4 assists and five boards per game. He led the league in scoring and won his first MVP while guiding the Thunder to the best record in the league.
He then had a phenomenal playoff run capped off by a championship, winning Western Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP in the process. He became just the fourth player in NBA history to win a championship, league MVP and scoring title in the same year.
As accomplished as he is, Gilgeous-Alexander remains extremely humble. After being named Finals MVP on Sunday, he said his co-star Jalen Williams deserved it just as much as him.
But now, Gilgeous-Alexander has established himself among the greats, and he's not afraid to say that he's the best in the world.
