2025 NBA Draft Scouting Report for Phoenix Suns No. 31 Pick Rasheer Fleming

B/R NBA StaffJun 26, 2025

The Phoenix Suns have selected Rasheer Fleming with the No. 31 pick in the 2025 NBA draft after trading up from the No. 36 pick.

Fleming earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors this past season at Saint Joseph’s and finished his career ranked No. 9 in rebounds in school history.

Fleming averaged 8.5 boards per game in 2025, which ranked No. 41 in the country, and he recorded nine double-doubles, second-most in the conference.

In one particular spotlight, Fleming had a 20-rebound game against Texas, the A-10’s highest single-game total of the season.

At the combine, Fleming's height measured 6'8¼" without shoes, tied for the 11th-best mark overall.

However, it was his wingspan that was most notable, coming in at 7'5¼". That ranked No. 4 among all participants, and it ranked No. 1 among non-centers by a margin of more than 1.25 inches.

Back on the court, Fleming made strides as a shooter this past season, knocking down spot-up and corner threes more consistently. His size, length and strength allow him to finish inside and provide some secondary rim protection.

Of course, the power forward isn’t a threat to create off the dribble and offers limited playmaking. While he was a force around the basket in college, he relied heavily on strength and will need more nuance at the next level.

Overall, Fleming’s frame, rebounding and floor-spacing potential make him a natural fit as a modern 3-and-D big. His versatility should allow him to contribute in a variety of lineups.

Fleming is ranked No. 24 on B/R NBA draft expert Jonathan Wasserman’s 2025 Prospect Big Board.

Realistic Pro Comparison: Taylor Hendricks

1 of 3
Golden State Warriors v Utah Jazz

The scouting report on Fleming looks like Utah Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks' out of college (UCF).

These are classic stretch 4s with the physical tools to finish and defend both forward positions.

Neither is a major threat to put the ball down and make a play. But both can provide value when surrounded by playmakers.

Strengths

2 of 3
Saint Joseph v La Salle

Physical Tools: Fleming posted strong combine measurements for a power forward. While he can't rely on this alone, it may ease his transition to the professional level.

Shooting: Fleming took an encouraging step forward with his three-point shooting last season. There should be plenty of demand for a forward with his measurements who can also stretch the floor and make spot-up and corner threes.

Interior Presence: With a 7'5¼" wingspan and powerful frame, Fleming could provide both interior scoring and some secondary rim protection.

Weaknesses

3 of 3
St. Bonaventure v Saint Joseph

Ball-Handling: Fleming rarely puts the ball on the floor. He won't be a threat to push the break, attack closeouts or make any plays off the dribble in the half court.

Passing: Without much creativity to his on-ball repertoire, he also offers minimal playmaking ability.

Relying on Strength Too Much: Fleming was a force around the basket, but he relied on strength often in college. He'll want to add more nuance and counters when he gets to the NBA.
