Ciro Immobile to Sevilla: Latest Transfer Details, Comments and Reaction
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Italian forward Ciro Immobile will join Sevilla on a one-year loan deal, subject to the striker passing a medical exam.
Confirmation of the deal came via BVB’s official website (in German) on Sunday. According to Football Italia, the two teams had hoped to include an option for the Andalusians to buy Immobile at the end of the loan spell, but it’s unclear whether a fee has been agreed. Football Espana's staff provided additional details:
"According to the Europa League winners’ official website, the 25-year-old will land in Andalucia on Sunday night, before undergoing physical examinations a day later.
Immobile will then join up with his new teammates for the first time at Sevilla’s pre-season training camp in La Manga.
AS also claims the loan deal includes a purchase option for €10 million, which can be activated next summer.

Following the completion of the deal, Immobile spoke about his move to Spain, via Football Espana: "I’m very happy because I'm now part of this family, the Sevilla family. I'm also very happy because Sevilla are a very important team. I expect to be at Sevilla for at least a couple of years because I don’t like to keep on changing teams."
Here’s a look at what Sevilla supporters can expect from their new acquisition:
As noted in the aforementioned piece, Immobile signed for Dortmund in a €19 million move last summer, but he failed to show his best form at the Westfalenstadion. During his debut season, he scored just seven goals in total, per WhoScored.com. Jurgen Klopp often opted to use Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a central striker instead of the Italian.

Spanish football expert Sergi Dominguez thinks the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium could be the perfect venue for Immobile to rediscover his best form:
The Liga side recently lost Carlos Bacca to Milan, and the void left by the Colombian will be a tough one to fill. But the 25-year-old has the talent to make a major impression in the Spanish top flight and will be determined to make the most of this opportunity.
