Kevin Durant Reportedly 'Wanted' Knicks Trade, NY Has 'No Interest' in Deal with Suns
Kevin Durant was reportedly interested in being traded to the New York Knicks, but the franchise had “no interest” in acquiring the former MVP.
"KD wanted the New York Knicks. He wanted to go there. The Knicks have no interest in bringing him in," Marc J. Spears reported on NBA Today on Monday (6:25 mark).

The New York Knicks boast an average age of 26.9—Durant is nearly a decade older than the current roster’s average.
Despite the age gap, the Knicks demonstrated their potential with their roster, making a deep postseason push that fell short, as they were defeated by the Indiana Pacers in six games during the Eastern Conference Finals.
According to Shams Charania on NBA Today, Durant’s top three preferred trade destinations are the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs. Despite earlier speculation linking him to Minnesota, Spears reported that Durant "definitely doesn't want to go to Minnesota."
"I think there's some fear from him and Rich Kleiman. They're hoping that there is going to be some respect at Kevin's age to give him what he wants, rather than try to trade him like he's 31 years old, which he's not anymore," Spears said. "I think they're trying to get a major haul, but they're hoping that they work with him and get it done."
The trio of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal was expected to form a championship-caliber core in Phoenix, but the group has fallen short of expectations. Since the arrivals of Beal and Durant, the Suns have failed to advance beyond the Western Conference semifinals—and didn’t even reach the postseason this year.
Three straight years of disappointing playoff outcomes have set the stage for the imminent trade of the 2014 MVP.
