Knicks' Josh Hart Reacts to Justin Thomas' Challenge to Play at Oakmont after US Open
New York Knicks guard Josh Hart is ready to join in on world No. 5 golfer Justin Thomas' suggestion for a handicap round after the 2025 U.S. Open Golf Championship.
"Let me know I’ll book my flight," Hart responded to Thomas' suggestion for "5, 10, 18 whatever handicap play" on Oakmont Country Club's back tees.
The USGA, which stages the U.S. Open, also responded to Thomas' proposal:
This isn't the first time Hart has shown interest in golf. The NBA shared a video of him hitting the links last September as part of an outing for Jalen Brunson's Second Round Foundation.
The Knicks star later celebrated on social media when his wife, Shannon Hart, got him a three-day trip to play golf in Scotland.
DP World Tour shared a video on Tuesday of golfers predicting what an 18 handicap golfer would shoot at the U.S. Open. Guesses ranged between 100 to 150 strokes.
According to the USGA, 70-par Oakmont has a course rating of 78.1 and a slope rating of 150. It's no wonder Thomas proposed "six to seven hours" for handicap play to wrap up on the back tees.
