Bijan Robinson Says 'We'll See' on Olympics Flag Football, Would Be 'Honor' to Rep USA
The NFL approved players' participation in Olympic flag football last month, and some players are already looking forward to playing, while others have ruled out the idea.
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is still weighing his options.

“I feel like it’s always an honor to play for your country,” Robinson said, via video from Cory Muse of KVUE (h/t Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams). “Like, you always want to play for your country. I would love to show my skillset on that type of stage.
“So, I think it’s going to come down to our schedule and where it lies, and if the teams even let us go. But I would love to play if given the opportunity. We’ll see. I don’t want it to affect my team and what we’ve got going here.”
Robinson, 23, will be 26 by the time the Los Angeles Olympics arrive. He should be in peak form as long as he avoids injury, meaning he could be one of the top options for Team USA as they look to win gold in the event.
But while Robinson and other NFL players assume they'll be granted a spot on the flag football team if they want it, those who already play for Team USA's flag football team but not in the NFL believe they deserve a spot just as much as the professionals.
Robinson is aware that he could be competing with non-NFL players for a spot on the team.
“Obviously, there’s a lot of great flag football players out here, and that’s all that they play, and they’re very specific in the game,” Robinson said. “Like you have guys who can be running with the football, and they can get this low to the ground and not get touched. No NFL player is doing that, or trying to do that at least.”
