Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton Says Dad John Will Attend 2025 NBA Finals vs. Thunder
The father of Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton will be in attendance for the 2025 NBA Finals.
The two-time All-Star told reporters his dad, John, plans on attending the series.
Last month, John Haliburton decided against coming to Pacers games indefinitely in the aftermath of his on-court exchange with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after Indiana eliminated Milwaukee in the first round.
Antetokounmpo didn't specify what was uttered in that moment, only saying the elder Haliburton acted in a "disrespectful" manner.
John Haliburton returned to Pacers games midway through the Eastern Conference Finals, albeit in a luxury suite far from the court.
Amid the saga, John has become a cult hero among Indiana fans.
"I know people were saying, 'Free Pops' and Pops is free, but he was not in jail," his son said after the Pacers beat the New York Knicks in Game 4. "He has a very beautiful home, very pretty to watch basketball. So he was just fine."
When the Pacers secured a series-clinching victory in Game 6, John made his way down to the court for the postgame celebrations and received plenty of high-fives.
The NBA Finals are by far the biggest moment of Tyrese Haliburton's career. It would've been unfortunate if his dad was unable to watch the series in person.
