Tyrese Haliburton Responds to Ben Stiller Trolling Him After Pacers Eliminate Knicks
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton made sure to have the last word on actor Ben Stiller after eliminating the New York Knicks from the Eastern Conference Finals.
When seeing Haliburton's pregame outfit ahead of Game 6 on Saturday, Stiller quipped the two-time All-Star "brought his duffel for the flight" back to New York. Hours after Indiana's 125-108 victory, Haliburton fired back:
Stiller's Knicks fandom made him a minor character throughout New York's postseason run. He showed up to multiple games with a courtside seat and reacted like anybody else when he was watching the team from afar.
Stiller even found himself in the crosshairs of ESPN personality Pat McAfee. Hyping up the crowd during the Pacers' Game 4 win, McAfee referenced the celebrity Knicks fans in attendance and said the home partisans should "send these sons of b---hes back to New York with their ears bleeding."
It all hearkened back to the mid-1990s, when Pacers legend Reggie Miller and Knicks superfan Spike Lee built up a mini-rivalry thanks to the teams' tense playoff battles.
Neither Indiana nor New York figures to slip much next year, so a third straight postseason encounter is possible. Should that happen, Stiller is likely to emerge again as a peripheral figure supplementing the action on the court.
