LSU Shreveport Baseball Completes Historic 59-0 Season, Wins NAIA National Title
LSU Shreveport made college baseball history Friday, beating Southeastern University to win the NAIA national championship and finish the season a perfect 59-0.
According to Mitch Light of The Athletic, LSU Shreveport extended its own record for the most consecutive wins in college baseball history by securing its 59th victory Friday in Lewiston, Idaho.
Previously LSU Shreveport broke the record for most consecutive wins by a four-year school with 46, surpassing Division II Savannah State's mark, which was set from 1999 to 2000.
LSU Shreveport also made history with its 58th win, as Texas junior college Howard College previously held the record for most consecutive college baseball wins at any level with 57, set in 2009.
The Pilots were a dominant force during the 2025 season, winning 28 games by 10 per more runs, per Light. However, their 59th and final win of the campaign didn't come easily.
LSU Shreveport trailed by scores of 4-0 and 7-5 in the NAIA national title game, but the Pilots took over in the sixth inning.
On the strength of back-to-back home runs by Jackson Syring and Ian Montz, LSU Shreveport scored four runs in the sixth to take a 10-7 lead, which it would never relinquish.
Ryan Davenport and Jose Sallorin had three RBI each for the Pilots in the win, while Syring scored four runs and Montz scored three.
Friday marked LSU Shreveport's first-ever national championship in baseball, although winning a lot of ball games is nothing new for the Pilots, as head coach Brad Neffendorf has led them to a 270-49 record since arriving in 2020.
