Tre Johnson, Kon Knueppel Rise on ESPN's 2025 NBA Draft Big Board After Combine
Tre Johnson and Kon Knueppel have risen up the latest ESPN big board ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft.
Johnson, a former Texas guard, is fifth overall after previously being sixth. Kneuppel, the ex-Duke guard, moved up one spot from ninth to eighth.
The 6'6" Johnson was sensational in his lone season at Texas, averaging 19.9 points on 42.7 percent shooting (39.7 percent from three), 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
"Johnson measured well at the combine (6-6 in shoes and a 6-10 wingspan), giving him strong size and length for a shooting guard and helping affirm his projection as one of the draft's higher-upside scorers," Givony wrote in part.
Knueppel was very efficient at Duke, averaging 14.4 points on 47.9 percent shooting (40.6 percent from three) alongside 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
"On the heels of a remarkably efficient freshman season, Knueppel is receiving long looks in the top five of this draft, with his excellent shooting and overall readiness to contribute offensively creating a strong selling point for front offices," Givony wrote in part.
"Philadelphia, Charlotte and Utah all represent potential landing spots and would benefit from plugging him in right away."
The latest Bleacher Report mock draft from Jonathan Wasserman has Johnson going fifth to the Utah Jazz and Knueppel ninth to the Toronto Raptors.
Both have serious potential at the next level. They're proven scorers after just one year apiece against top collegiate competition, so it's no surprise that they are clear top-10 draft prospects. In previous years, they would have undoubtedly both been top-five prospects, but this year is a deep draft with elite talent at the top. As it stands, Johnson could very well get selected with a top-five pick.
The NBA Draft will get underway on June 25.
