Karl-Anthony Towns 'Honored' to Be Playing with Knicks in ECF After 25-Year Drought
The New York Knicks are back in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 1999-00 season and once again battling the Indiana Pacers.
And Karl-Anthony Towns is glad to be part of the revival.
"My first year with the Knicks, to be on this journey with them and back in the Eastern Conference Finals after 25 years, I'm honored to be a part of this history of the game for the Knicks," he told TNT Sports (1:50 mark).
Towns likely saved New York's season in Game 3, powering the team through a double-digit deficit in the second half with 20 fourth-quarter points. A loss would have buried the Knicks in a 3-0 deficit in the series; instead, they came into Tuesday's Game 4 down a more manageable 2-1.
"Game 3 was the most important game of the year," Towns said. "We needed to get that game to put ourselves back in the series after dropping the first two games at home. It was do-or-die time."
