Alex Condon Withdraws from 2025 NBA Draft, Will Return to Florida After National Title
Forward Alex Condon informed ESPN's Jonathan Givony on Tuesday that he will withdraw from the 2025 NBA draft and return to the University of Florida for his junior season.
Condon, a 20-year-old big man from Australia, was a key contributor to the Gators' national championship-winning team last season.
Appearing in 37 games and making 35 starts, the 6'11" Aussie averaged 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 blocks while shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Condon arrived in Gainesville in 2023 as a 3-star recruit and the No. 32 center in his class, per 247Sports.
Although he started only one of the 36 games he appeared in as a freshman, Condon made an instant impact for the Gators, averaging 7.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 assists per contest.
Florida finished 24-12 and got knocked out in the first round of the NCAA tournament, but the team took a massive leap forward last season.
Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, Will Richard and Condon led the way for the Gators last season, as they all averaged double figures in scoring and helped them go 36-4 and win their first national title since 2007.
Although he averaged only 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds during the NCAA tournament, Condon came through in the national championship game against Houston, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and four steals in a 65-63 victory.
After ending the season on a high note, Condon entered the 2025 NBA draft, hoping to capitalize on his breakout campaign.
However, Bleacher Report NBA draft expert Jonathan Wasserman had Condon going undrafted in his latest mock draft, which may have been a sign that Condon was far from a sure thing to get picked.
Instead of tempting fate, Condon is going back to school to improve his draft stock for next year and vie for back-to-back championships.
While Clayton, Martin and Richard all entered the NBA draft, Florida still figures to have a strong team in 2025-26.
Condon is returning along with Thomas Haugh and Rueben Chinyelu, meaning Florida's fourth-, fifth- and seventh-leading scorers from last season will be back in the fold.
Additionally, Florida landed two high-end transfers in Princeton's Xaivian Lee and Arkansas' Boogie Fland, as well as 247Sports' No. 29 overall recruit in 4-star prospect CJ Ingram.
A potential starting five of Condon, Haugh, Chinyelu, Lee and Fland could make the Gators a threat for another SEC title and national championship next season.
