Rich Paul Says He Has 'No Idea' How Long Lakers' LeBron James Will Continue to Play

LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, said he has "no idea" what the future holds for the NBA star following the conclusion of his 22nd season in the league.

"I have no idea, zero," Paul told Rich Eisen Thursday on The Rich Eisen Show.

"Normally our process is, kind of weigh everything and see how he's feeling and all those type of things," Paul continued. "... Same process it's been for the last I don't know how many years."

"He'll come around to what he's thinking at some point and we'll kind of go over some things and go from there," Paul said.

James and the Los Angeles Lakers finished the season with a 50-32 record, securing the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. However, their playoff run was short-lived, as they were eliminated in the first round in five games by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

James, who turned 40 in December, continued to defy age with impressive numbers. He averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists during the regular season while shooting 51.3 percent from the field. In the postseason, he elevated his play, averaging 25.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 2.0 steals across five games.

He finished sixth in MVP voting, earning 16 total points.

His son, Bronny James, entered the NBA last season, spending most of his time with the South Bay Lakers in the G League. However, he also appeared in 27 regular season games with the Los Angeles Lakers, sharing the court with his father in a historic moment for the league.

When asked about his future after the Lakers’ playoff exit, LeBron told reporters he didn’t have a definitive answer.

“I’m not sure yet,” James said when questioned about how much longer he intends to continue playing before retiring. "I don't have an answer to that. Something I'll sit down with my family, my wife and my support group and kind of just talk through it and see what happens. And just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play.

"I don't know the answer to that right now, to be honest. So we'll see."
