He also recorded 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks on a nightly basis.
Gilgeous-Alexander received identical murals for his accomplishment in Oklahoma City as well as his former high school, Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School, in Hamilton, Ontario.
The three-time All-Star became the third Thunder player to win the award as a member of the organization, joining Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
“Any conversation about me being with those two guys who have done amazing things is hard to put into words," Gilgeous-Alexander said after being named MVP, via Shaun Powell of NBA.com.
The 26-year-old finally earned the honor after he was a contender over the past two years, finishing No. 2 in MVP voting last season and No. 5 in voting during his 2022-23 campaign.
Gilgeous-Alexander has continued to serve as the engine of Oklahoma City's offense throughout its 2025 playoff run, advancing to the Western Conference Finals after taking down the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets during the first two rounds of the postseason.
In 12 playoff starts this year, he's averaged 29.2 points, 6.6 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field.
While Gilgeous-Alexander still has his sights set on the Thunder competing for a spot in the NBA Finals, he was honored for his MVP win at his old high school.
