Now, the Thunder will go on to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals. Meanwhile, the Eastern Conference Finals are already set and will feature the New York Knicks taking on the Indiana Pacers.
Here's a look at the upcoming playoff schedule as well as Sunday's result.
Upcoming Schedule
Game 1: Minnesota Timberwolves at Oklahoma City Thunder, Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET
Game 1: Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks, Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET
Oklahoma City Thunder 125, Denver Nuggets 93
The final result of Sunday's matchup didn't seem like it would be so lopsided at first, with the Nuggets leading by as many as 11 points in the first quarter and holding a 26-21 advantage heading into the second.
The Thunder only led 42-41 with three minutes left until halftime, but they closed the half on an impressive 18-5 run to gain some separation over Denver.
Oklahoma City put the game out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring the Nuggets 37-26 during the period.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was efficient from all areas of the floor, dropping 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting. He also recorded four assists, three steals and one block while hitting three of his four attempts from behind the arc.
Jalen Williams also stepped up for Oklahoma City, scoring 24 points and shooting 10-of-17 from the field. It was a resurgent performance from Williams, who owned a mere 33.7 field-goal percentage through the first six games of the series.
The Thunder stifled the Nuggets defensively, scoring 37 points off 23 turnovers by Denver. On the other hand, the Nuggets only forced 10 turnovers which resulted in seven points.
Oklahoma City's dominance was even more impressive considering the team didn't excel from three-point territory, shooting just 30.8 percent on long-range shots as a team.
Nikola Jokić scored 20 points and shot 55.6 percent from the field, but Denver was outscored by 23 points in his 37 minutes on the floor.
Now, the Thunder will face off against a Timberwolves squad that advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year by taking down the Golden State Warriors in five games.
