Celtics' Jaylen Brown Reportedly Played Through Torn Meniscus Knee Injury in Playoffs
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown played in the playoffs with a partially torn right meniscus, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Per Shelburne, Brown missed Boston's final three games of the regular season with the injury but was able to "modify his game and play through pain" during the playoffs. He'll reportedly be evaluated this week to determine if surgery is required.
The Celtics dealt with injuries to several key players throughout their 2025 playoff run, with superstar Jayson Tatum suffering a torn Achilles during their second-round series against the New York Knicks.

Kristaps Porziņģis was also hampered by an illness, playing just 15.5 minutes per game in the second round against New York.
The Celtics' championship defense came to an end on Friday night, as they were eliminated from the postseason with a 119-81 defeat at the hands of the Knicks in Game 6.
While Brown owned a 49.7 effective field-goal percentage during Boston's 2025 playoff run, the lowest of his postseason career, it was still admirable that he was able to push through the injury and stay on the floor.
The 2024 NBA Finals MVP averaged 22.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game during 10 playoff starts for the Celtics this season. He also dropped 26 points and 12 assists during a Game 5 win over New York to keep Boston's playoff hopes alive.
"I don't make excuses," Brown told reporters Friday, via Shelburne. "Obviously, it's tough the way we went out like tonight, but the way we finished the year, personally, the way I finished the year, persevering through some physical stuff that I was battling through, I'm proud of our group."
