Steph Curry, Draymond Green's Reaction to Luka Doncic-Lakers Trade Caught in New Video

Professional poker player Alan Keating released a video showing the reaction of Golden State Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green to the news of the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring Luka Dončić from the Dallas Mavericks back in February.

As seen starting at the 3:30 mark of Keating's YouTube video, Curry and Green appeared to be in shock when the trade was first reported:

Keating was present at the Warriors' Chase Center in San Francisco to take part in a charity poker tournament, and several Warriors players and team personnel were gathered together when ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania broke the news.

Buddy Hield said, "That's not true," when the room started buzzing about the trade, and while looking at Curry's phone, Green said, "What?" multiple times.

Kirk Lacob, who is the Warriors' executive vice president of basketball operations, asked Curry if it was fake, and even after Curry told him it wasn't, he asked, "Are you sure?"

Curry didn't say much, but his mouth was agape at one point and he began screaming in shock in the midst of a phone call about the trade.

Just past midnight ET on Feb. 2, Charania sent the basketball world into a frenzy when he posted on X that the Lakers had agreed to send Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick to the Mavs for Dončić, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris.

As was the case with the Warriors players, many fans thought the report was fake at first as well, theorizing that Charania had gotten hacked.

The trade turned out to be real, though, and it has gone down as one of the biggest and most surprising deals in the history of sports.

While the trade could shape the league for years to come, it didn't ultimately have much of an impact on the 2025-26 season.

The Mavs missed the playoffs after losing in the postseason play-in tournament, and the Lakers were eliminated in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

That trade shook up the roster of two perennial contenders in the Western Conference, though, and given that the Warriors are at the same level, it is no wonder that they had such a strong reaction.
