Latest on Giannis Trade Rumors for Mavs, Spurs After 2025 NBA Draft Lottery Results
The Dallas Mavericks winning the 2025 NBA draft lottery may have had an impact on Giannis Antetokounmpo's uncertain future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that the Mavericks have "craved Giannis for a long time" on The Hoop Collective podcast and mentioned that the team previously added his younger brother, Kostas, in the 2018 draft (12:20 mark).

ESPN's Tim MacMahon noted that the acquisition of Kostas occurred under a previous regime and would be "awfully surprised" if Dallas pursued Giannis, though.
The Mavericks secured the No. 1 overall pick in Monday's lottery, while the San Antonio Spurs also moved up to the No. 2 selection.
MacMahon said he "wouldn't be shocked" if the Spurs used the team's 2025 draft pick as part of a trade package pursue the elder Antetokounmpo (15:25 mark).
ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday that "for the first time in his career, Antetokounmpo is open-minded about exploring whether his best long-term fit is remaining in Milwaukee or playing elsewhere."
The two-time MVP should have a large amount of interest from opposing teams if he explores the trade market, as he's coming off a 2024-25 campaign in which he averaged 30.4 points and 11.9 rebounds to go along with 6.5 assists per game.
While Dallas may be hesitant to pursue him, San Antonio is an intriguing fit. It isn't difficult to imagine Antetokounmpo and rising star Victor Wembanyama forming the most imposing frontcourt in the association on both ends of the floor.
The interest from both teams could become clearer as the draft approaches on June 25.
