
Tatum, Celtics' 3-Point Shooting Impresses NBA Fans in 22-Point Blowout of Knicks
Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics secured a lopsided 115-93 win over the New York Knicks in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series on Saturday.
Boston cruised to the victory, opening the game on a 17-8 run and taking a 16-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Celtics held a 25-point advantage at halftime and never looked back, leading by as many as 31 points in the second half.
Tatum finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 40 minutes on the floor. He shot 8-of-20 from the field, but hit five of his nine attempts from behind the arc.
Long-range marksmanship was key for Boston on Saturday, shooting 20-of-40 from three-point territory as a team.
Fans were impressed with the deep accuracy from Tatum and the Celtics.
Payton Pritchard finished with a team-high 23 points off the bench for Boston, shooting 5-of-10 from behind the arc.
For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns combined to shoot a mere 14-of-39 from the field. New York connected on just 20 percent of its three-point attempts.
The Knicks were able to erase 20-point deficits in Game 1 and Game 2, but the Celtics kept their foot on the gas Saturday.
