Tyrese Haliburton Reportedly Not Fined for Celebration in Pacers' Game 2 Win vs. Cavs
Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton's bank account is reportedly safe after his celebratory dance when he hit a game-winning three-pointer against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Haliburton was not fined for his celebration, and he "received only a warning from the league office instead."
Haliburton said after Tuesday's Game 2 win that he expected to be fined because the NBA has fined players like LeBron James, Eddie House, Julius Randle, Fred VanVleet and more for the celebration that is believed to have been introduced by Sam Cassell. The league previously described the celebration as an "obscene gesture."

"I've been waiting for that. I've been waiting for that, man," Haliburton said when asked whether he expected to hear from the league. "It was just right in the moment. It was right in the moment. Yeah, man, I've been waiting for that. I'll take that fine, gladly."
Instead, Haliburton will be let off with just a warning. He helped the Pacers overcome a 20-point deficit with a three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left that gave them a 120-119 win and a 2-0 series lead over the top-seeded Cavs.
The momentum is completely on the Pacers' side as the series heads to Indiana for Games 3 and 4 on Friday and Sunday. Haliburton has been performing at a high level throughout the postseason as he tries to lead the Pacers to another potential upset. He will surely appreciate the league's decision to leave his pockets intact as the playoffs continue.
