Updated NBA Playoff Bracket 2025 Picture, Schedule After Knicks, Thunder Win Game 2s

Andrew PetersMay 8, 2025

The NBA playoffs continued on Wednesday with a pair of Game 2 matchups.

The New York Knicks used a late surge to take a 2-0 lead against the Boston Celtics on the road. The Oklahoma City Thunder walloped the Denver Nuggets to even the series at one apiece.

Here's a look at the schedule for Thursday.

The Knicks once again used a second-half comeback to erase a massive deficit and steal a win from the defending champions.

Much like Game 1, Boston controlled the first half and led 50-41 heading into the break.

One of the best highlights of the night came in the third quarter when OG Anunoby threw down a ferocious dunk over Derrick White, but unfortunately for the Knicks, White had his feet set and it was ruled an offensive foul.

The Celtics extended their lead by as many as 20 points in the third quarter, but the Knicks got it back to a manageable 12-point deficit before the fourth quarter.

A 17-2 Knicks run halfway through the fourth quarter helped New York cut it to just one point heading into the final two minutes.

With just under two minutes left, Jalen Brunson gave the Knicks their first lead of the night. He then made it a three-point game with less than a minute to go.

But after 14 consecutive misses, the Celtics finally got the basket they needed as Jayson Tatum flew through the lane for a clutch go-ahead dunk.

Boston's lead only lasted a moment, however, as Brunson was fouled at the other end and hit a pair of free throws that sealed the win.

Now, the Celtics have two embarrassing blown leads in two games and have a big deficit ahead of them. Meanwhile, morale is high for the Knicks as they look to go up 3-0 at home in Game 3.

Oklahoma City Thunder 149, Denver Nuggets 106

After a late collapse in Game 1, the Thunder responded with a blowout win in Game 2 on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City jumped out to a 45-21 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

The Thunder were up 31 heading into halftime with the win practically already wrapped up. The 87 points they posted in the first half were the most in a playoff game in the play-by-play era, which began in 1997.

With the comfortable lead, Oklahoma City coasted through the third quarter before pulling its starters in the fourth.

MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for his squad with 34 points and all five Thunder starters were in double figures.

Now, Oklahoma City will head to Denver with plenty of momentum from the dominant showing on Wednesday.
