Following Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies' national championship win on Sunday, Chicago Sky's Angel Reese gave a shoutout to the 2020 recruiting class.

The 2020 class included Bueckers at No. 1, Reese at No. 2, Cameron Brink at No. 3, Caitlin Clark at No. 4 and Kamilla Cardoso at No. 5 — all except Bueckers declared and were drafted in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Bueckers tore the ACL in her left knee during a pickup game, sidelining her for the entire 2022-23 college season and leaving her with one more year of eligibility than her fellow 2020 recruits.

After the injury, Bueckers struggled with the reality of missing the season and battled anxiety and stress during her recovery.

“I knew it was bad. I felt a pop. I’m not really sure if I heard it, but I felt it for sure... I knew something was wrong.” Bueckers said following the injury, per SBNation's Daniel Connolly. “When they posted it and the texts came through, all the posts came through, when I saw that, then it really became real life... Everybody knows about it. It really happened. I had to own it.”

Although she wasn’t drafted alongside her 2020 classmates in 2024, Bueckers made the most of her extra year by leading UConn to a national championship. Her journey, along with the rest of the 2020 recruiting class, has solidified their legacy as a group that changed the game forever.

Iowa's Clark appeared in two national title games, Brink won with Stanford in 2020, Reese won the 2023 championship with LSU and Cardoso captured two championships with South Carolina in 2022 and 2024.

Clark went No. 1 overall to the Indiana Fever, Brink went second to the Los Angeles Sparks, Cardoso went third to the Chicago Sky and Reese went No. 7 to the Sky with Bueckers' future in the WNBA still to be determined.

Reese and Clark were 2024 WNBA All-Stars, with Clark also earning Rookie of the Year honors and a spot on the First Team All-WNBA. Cardoso joined Clark and Reese on the First Team All-Rookie.

Fellow fifth-year player and 2020 recruit Hailey Van Lith made deep tournament runs during her tenure, including a semifinal loss with Louisville in 2022 and a regional finals loss with TCU in 2025. Van Lith is projected to be a top-ten pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, per Bleacher Report's Scouting Department.

Bueckers is the No. 1 overall WNBA draft prospect, according to Bleacher Report's Rachel Galligan and is projected to go No. 1 overall to the Dallas Wings, per B/R's Scouting Department.
