Ja Morant's Finger Gun Gesture Reportedly Being Reviewed by NBA After Warriors Game
Ja Morant and Buddy Hield were issued double-technical fouls during Tuesday's game between the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies after they appeared to point finger guns, and the NBA is reportedly investigating the situation.Ā
ESPN's Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon reported Wednesday that the league is reviewing both players' gestures and plans to discuss them with the involved parties.
The game was well in hand for the Warriors at the point when Hield and then Morant pointed finger guns, as Jimmy Butler had just made two free throws to extend the lead to seven with fewer than 30 seconds remaining.

This isn't the first time pointing finger guns has been a storyline involving the Grizzlies this season.
Desmond Bane celebrated a three-pointer during a game against the Philadelphia 76ers with a gun-like gesture, which drew a response from Caleb Martin:
With Morant, such a gesture will draw more attention than it likely would for another player given his history. He was previously suspended 25 games by the NBA after he posed with a gun during an Instagram Live video.
That came after he was previously suspended for eight games after a video emerged that appeared to show him with a gun in a nightclub.
As for the game, Golden State emerged with a 134-125 victory. It extended its winning streak to three and moved a half-game ahead of the Grizzlies for the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.
Stephen Curry put on a show with 52 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and five steals behind 12-of-20 shooting from three-point range. Butler added 27 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals as the Warriors continue to play at a high level after trading for him.
Memphis is trending in the opposite direction and has lost four in a row and seven of the last eight.
