Stephen Curry Day-to-Day with Hamstring Injury After Exiting Warriors vs. Wolves G1

Andrew PetersMay 7, 2025

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-88 in Game 1 of their second-round series on Tuesday night after Stephen Curry suffered a left hamstring strain and didn't return to the contest.

Following the win, Dubs head coach Steve Kerr told reporters Curry is considered day-to-day and will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

"He's obviously crushed," Kerr added.

Curry, who suffered the injury in the first half, had 13 points in 13 minutes at the time of the injury.

Curry, 37, avoided any serious injuries through the first half of the season, but injured his pelvis on March 20 when he took a hard fall against the Toronto Raptors. That injury wasn't too serious as he managed to return to the court by April.

Though Curry isn't the MVP candidate he once was, he's still playing at a high level, averaging 24.5 points, six assists and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 39.7 percent from deep. Anytime the star isn't on the court, the Warriors take a noticeable step back.

With no Curry, the Warriors will need Jimmy Butler, playing in his first playoffs with Golden State, to step up. Butler had a strong series against the Houston Rockets, averaging 18.3 points per game.

The Warriors will also look to role players like Draymond Green, Buddy Hield and Brandin Podziemski to step up in Curry's absence.

It's unclear how serious Curry's injury is, but Golden State will have a hard time getting past Minnesota if he has to miss time beyond Game 1.
