
Celtics' Jayson Tatum Gives Ankle Injury Update, Says He's 'Feeling Good' After Sprain
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum says he is "feeling good" after suffering an ankle injury on Monday.
"There's a few benefits to being 27. You recover a little bit faster," Tatum said in a Wednesday appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast (30:10 mark.)
Tatum suffered the injury after he was fouled by Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis on a contested three-point shot in the third quarter of the Celtics' win.

The Celtics forward exited the game after falling to the floor. Sabonis, who was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul on the play, said he felt "horrible" about the injury.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters after the game that Tatum "seems to be doing okay."
Tatum meanwhile told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne his ankle was "just sore," but the Celtics were "going to be cautious."
Tatum was leading the Celtics in every major offensive category by averaging 27.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists through 66 games prior to his injury.
Having him healthy by the time the playoffs begin on April 19 will be key to the Celtics' hopes of defending their title. Last bring, Tatum came just shy of a postseason double-double by posting 25.0 points and 9.7 rebounds to bring the Larry O'Brien trophy to Boston.
The Celtics have only had their starting five of Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, Tatum and Kristaps Porziņģis available at the same time for 21 games this season, per WEEI's Justin Turpin. Despite those absences, the reigning champs remain on track for a top-two seed in the Eastern Conference with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
Tatum is listed as doubtful to play when the Celtics take on the Phoenix Suns Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET.
