After starting the season with a 15-0 record, the Cavs have spent much of the year locked into the top spot in the East. Cleveland hasn't faltered at any point and has the chance to tie the franchise record of 66 wins in 2008-09.

The Cavs have been led by the All-Star backcourt of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. Mitchell leads the team with 24.0 points per game, while Garland isn't too far behind him with averages of 20.4 points and a team-high 6.7 assists. Star forward Evan Mobley has also enjoyed a breakout campaign, earning his first career All-Star selection with impressive averages of 18.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 blocks.

Cleveland also made a solid addition at the trade deadline by acquiring three-and-D specialist De'Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks. The swingman has thrived with his new team, averaging 13.8 points across 25 games with the Cavs. Veteran center Jarrett Allen and backup guard Ty Jerome add to the team's incredible depth.

The pieces came together perfectly under first-year head coach Kenny Atkinson, who has found the right formula for Cleveland to maintain its perch atop the NBA. The next step for the Cavs is to achieve their second championship in franchise history, and earning the No. 1 seed will benefit them toward that goal.
