LeBron James Expands on 'Face of the NBA' Remarks in Viral Post: Not 'About 1 Person'
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James followed up on his previous comments regarding the face of the NBA moving forward.
James explained that his message wasn't about "one person or one show" and was instead referencing "the culture of basketball" in a viral social media post on Friday.

The NBA's all-time leading scorer went on to mention that "this is about the impact the negativity is having on our beautiful game and our fans."
On Thursday night, James told reporters that he sympathized with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards not attempting to become the face of the association.
"There's just weird energy when it comes to that," James said.
Prior to the 2025 NBA All-Star game, Edwards didn't view himself as a top candidate to be the face of the league moving forward.
"Not really," Edwards said, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
James' initial comments elicited a reaction from ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, who responded on Friday's First Take:
The four-time MVP has served as a face of the NBA throughout his career, excelling with the title as he won four championships and made 21 All-Star rosters. At 40 years old, discussion regarding James' successor as the next top representative of the league has continued to grow.
The Lakers star is more concerned with coverage of the NBA's on-court product, though.
James hasn't shown many signs of rust to open his 2024-25 campaign, averaging 24.9 points and 8.0 rebounds to go along with 8.7 assists per game.
He's also shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three-point territory, marking the second consecutive year that he's hit over 39 percent of his shots from behind the arc.
As James finishes out his 22nd NBA season, he provided further details on his outlook regarding the future of the association.
