Ja Morant Explains 'Hate' of Social Media, Says 'Y'all Won't See Me' After Retirement
Don't expect to hear much from Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant on social media once his NBA career winds down.
The two-time All-Star reflected on how he only maintains a presence now for endorsement purposes and that "y'all won't see me no more" once those obligations are gone:

Morant's relationship with social media has certainly been fraught in the past.
The NBA suspended him for 25 games in June 2023 after he appeared to be handling a gun in a video a friend posted to Instagram. It was his second such offense and the first resulted in an eight-game ban.
Morant has also experienced the general downside of being a celebrity at a time when fans enjoy more access to their favorite players than ever before. He deactivated his X account entirely in January after the Grizzlies lost 143-106 to the New York Knicks on Jan. 27.
Still, some engagement with social media is required when you have your own signature sneaker line with Nike. And unless he's content to derive his overall earnings largely from his NBA contract, it's a bargain Morant won't be able to break for some time. At 25, he could reasonably play another decade or more in the league.
But Morant's distaste for social platforms is abundantly clear.
