Josh Smith Reportedly Reaches Contract Agreement with Los Angeles Clippers
After a season that involved being waived by the Detroit Pistons and signed by the Houston Rockets, Josh Smith has decided to pursue a championship as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Shams Charania of RealGM.
On July 6, ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne first reported the Clippers were considering signing Smith.
Smith's decision comes as he was being pursued by the Sacramento Kings, per Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee, who had a "very strong" interest in the forward.

Mitchell Quote on Knick Fans 👀

Knicks Haven't Lost in a Month 🤷♂️
Although Smith was a complete disaster in his time with the Pistons, he became a useful member of the Houston Rockets rotation, averaging 12 points and six rebounds in 25.5 minutes a night. According to Basketball-Reference.com, Smith's per-36-minute averages in 2014-15 were just slightly higher than his career averages, which puts his Rockets performances into perspective.
Seth Partnow of Nylon Calculus argued prior to the agreement that Smith would be good value for the money if he ended up in Los Angeles:
"Surprising that Josh Smith is being targeted as a min salary guy. Many worse players have signed multi year deals.

The 29-year-old won't necessarily address the Clippers' center conundrum, but he'll help add depth to a team that is thin despite it announcing the surprise return of DeAndre Jordan.
