Armstrong, a 6'6" guard who played for the Cairns Taipans in the NBL, put up 17.1 points, 4.7 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game in 19 games this season. He shot 45.9 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from deep.
Before joining the NBL, Armstrong played college basketball at California Baptist, where he was named Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year after putting up 10.5 points, 6.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game in 2021-22. In his second season at Cal Baptist in 2022-23, he averaged 11.3 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Armstrong has also been a member of Australia's national team, most recently for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.
It's unclear at this point whether Armstrong will be a major contributor for Golden State, but he at least gives the Warriors some additional depth should one of their current guards suffer an injury.
With less than 30 games left this season, the Warriors currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference at 29-27. While a rough first half of the year set Golden State back, things are looking up. Since the addition of Jimmy Butler, the Dubs have won four of their last five games.ย
Golden State will look to continue that trend of winning and perhaps avoid having to reach the playoffs via the play-in tournament.
