Anthony Edwards on Michael Jordan Comparisons: 'I Just Wish Y'all Would Stop'
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards made it clear that he has grown weary of being compared to Michael Jordan.
While speaking to reporters during All-Star Weekend, Edwards was asked, "Your game is very similar to MJ’s, but what move would you like to adapt to your bag from MJ?" The 23-year-old's response revealed that he doesn't wish to be mentioned alongside arguably the greatest player of all time.
"No moves, man. Shout out to MJ, he the GOAT. I just wish y’all would stop comparing me to him," Edwards said (h/t HoopsHype).

New NBA Anti-Tanking Reform
Edwards has made waves recently for downplaying his standing within the sport of basketball. Despite being one of the brightest young stars in the NBA, he declared that he doesn't view himself as the future face of the league, instead bestowing that title on San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama.
Edwards ranks fifth in the NBA while averaging a career-high of 27.5 points per game this season. He's also added 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting a career-best 41.4 percent from three-point range.
While his skills on the court are reminiscent of Jordan, Edwards' mindset is vastly different from the six-time NBA champion. Jordan was known for his innate drive to be the best, and it's clear that Edwards doesn't think the same way.
If he wants to lead the Timberwolves to their first NBA championship in franchise history, Edwards will have to embrace the pressure that comes with being one of the best players in the league.
Edwards and Minnesota (31-25) will return to action following the All-Star break on Friday when they visit the Houston Rockets (34-21).
